Panamerican University creates an alliance with Verde Compacto for the development of an indoor cultivation system that will be applied in its educational programs. This alliance seeks to offer educational programs adapted to new trends in consumption and technology.
In an interview with Alejandra Areola, Director of the Food Business Management School at the Panamerican University Aguascalientes Mercedes Urzúa González, Director of the Faculty of Engineering at the Panamerican University Aguascalientes.
We talked with them about the project in collaboration with Verde Compacto, the challenges and expectations; The project seeks to transform the educational model and be a research and development tool for its students.
Mercedes talked about her experience visiting the Huvster and how this technology has been developed and the possibilities of this growing system.
A space to educate
The indoor farming system makes his students aware of the opportunities in the supply chain, it also helps to discuss sustainability issues. It’s also important that this project follow the ideals and vision of the University, which is to contribute to creating a better world.
Alejandra Areola shares the vision of the use of space and how it will constitute a key element in the academic offer of both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The vertical farming system will allow the research and development of an innovative educational model.
Students will be involved in the process of growing and selecting vegetables. As well as implementing a business vision which allows a broader understanding of the food industry.
